Convergences is pleased to announce that our partners at the Comptoir de l’Innovation are working with the Euclid Network and several other organizations to present this opportunity for entrepreneurs in the UK, France, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco to participate in a high-level exchange programme.
Overview
The main purpose of the Social Entrepreneur Exchange and Development for the Euro-Mediterranean Region (SEED EURO-MED) project is to strengthen (social) entrepreneurship in Northern Africa and support peer-to-peer learning between aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs in EU countries and the southern neighbourhood. It also aims to develop a policy framework in order to enable the environment for the development of (social) entrepreneurship at regional and national level in Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.
SEED EURO-MED will match new entrepreneurs with experienced host entrepreneurs through a placement of between one and three months in the country of the experienced entrepreneur. The programme focuses on social entrepreneurs but this is not an exclusive pre-condition and for-profit entrepreneurs may also be eligible for the programme.
Duration
Feb 2014 – June 2016
How can you get involved?
SEED EURO-MED is open to entrepreneurs residing in the UK, France, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. New Entrepreneurs (NEs) must have developed a business idea or have been running an enterprise for less than three years. Host Entrepreneurs (HEs) must have a minimum of three years’ experience in running a business with an executive role.
Exchanges will last between one and three months in one of the five host countries and NEs will receive a bursary as financial support to undertake the placement. All entrepreneurs will also receive induction information and preparatory briefings prior to the exchange as well as personal support during and after the programme.
The application process will require a CV and motivation letter; NEs must also submit their business plan which will be further developed during their placement.
Please note that SEED EURO-MED is not an internship but rather an exchange programme which allows entrepreneurs to work side-by-side as partners.
