2013 Edition
With 5,000 participants from over 1,300 organizations gathered in Paris on September 17, 18 and 19, 2013, the 6th edition of the Convergences World Forum was a first-rate rendezvous for all players committed to a fair and sustainable world, whether from the associative world, the public sphere or the private sector.
The Convergences World Forum offered a high-level forum for reflection on inventing solutions for tomorrow’s world, with over 350 speakers from all over the world sharing their thoughts and ideas in 60 debates, workshops and networking events.
The Trade Show, which brought together 40 exhibitors, and the Networking events brought together a wide range of players to discover innovative projects and new complementarities, which we hope will lay the foundations for tomorrow’s alliances for a fair and sustainable world.
The themes were a great success with Internet users, with 500,000 people on Twitter following #convergences. More than 100 journalists also took part in the event, ensuring that the Convergences World Forum’s issues received strong coverage in the national and international media.
The three thematic axes :
- What are the major challenges involved in building a more sustainable and equitable society?
- How can public, private and community players improve their practices?
- How can these players work better together?
These three areas were organized around 5 cross-cutting themes:
- Analyze the major challenges in the fight against poverty in the light of environmental constraints
- Defining the role and practices of each player in the fight against poverty
- Debate the role of microfinance as a lever for advancing financial inclusion and development
- Build new alliances between public, private and civil society players
- Identify the innovative tools and financing best suited to the various forms of solidarity projects
