TRAIN OR PLANE?
Every year, the vast majority of Convergences World Forum carbon emissions are due to plane flights. On average, a plane emits 360 grams CO2 equivalent per kilometer when a car emits 150 grams CO2 equivalent for the same distance and a train 11 grams CO2 equivalent. Looking at the gap between these number, it is a necessity to think about which means of transportation is the most suitable for our trips.
Some advice if you are traveling to Paris from a far place to attend Convergences World Forum:

For trips with a distance inferior to 1000 km, we advice to opt for the train rather than the plane. It is an economical and quite rapid mean of transportation.

For long distance trips by flight, it is possible to reduce the environmental impact by choosing the economical class rather than the first class (emitting the most) or the business class.
